Two people face charges after stealing a vehicle with a seven month old child inside.
On Thursday, September 9, 2021, police say that an adult female had stopped at a restaurant in the 600 block of Pembina Highway to get some water when a woman jumped into her vehicle and attempted to drive away. the owner of the vehicle was dragged as she attempted to stop the theft. The suspect drove around the parking lot dangerously as she tried to pick up her male accomplice but got involved in a collision. The female and male suspects fled on foot.
The child who was in the vehicle at the time of the theft was not physically injured.
34-year-old Amie Tamara Kitchekeesik was charged for her alleged involvement with Robbery, Forcible Confinement, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance, Assault with a Weapon and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
38-year-old Daniel Garson was charged for his alleged involvement with Robbery.
Both of the accused were detained in custody.
