Two early morning fires under investigation

Arlington Street

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to two working fires on Thursday morning, May 16, 2019.

Just after 5:30 am crews responded to a fire in a vacant bungalow on Arlington Street.

Crews launched an offensive attack and were able to snuff out the flames about 30 minutes after arriving on scene.

The home suffered smoke, fire and water damage.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Selkirk Avenue

An hour and a half later, around 7:00 am, a fire in a vacant lot in the 700 block of Selkirk Avenue brought crews to the scene.

Although the blaze in some debris had not reached a nearby home crews protected the structure wile the fire was put out.

The are no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
