Two family pets died in a Cordova Street fire on Sunday afternoon, September 10, 2023.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to a two-storey home in the 700 block around 1:22 pm.

Smoke was seen coming from the building as crews arrived on the scene. An interior offensive attack was launched with the fire declared under control at 1;49 pm.

Everyone inside the home at the time of the fire was able to get out before firefighters arrived. Two dogs died as a result of exposure to smoke.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
