Early Sunday June 18, 2017 a single vehicle collision claimed the life of two people in Portage la Prairie.
It happened just before 2:30 am. The SUV was travelling west on Crescent Avenue at what police describe as a “high rate of speed” when it crossed the centre line and struck a tree.
The 22 year old female driver and 20 year old female passenger died at the scene.
It is not know if alcohol played a factor in the collision or if either victim were wearing seatbelts
RCMP continue to investigate and have brought in their Forensic Collision Reconstructionist to help.
