Two dead, two hurt in collision north of Dauphin

RCMP are investigating a fatal collision involving two pickup trucks.

It happened just after 8:00 pm about three kilometres north of Dauphin at the intersection of Provincial Road 362 and Road 147 North.

Police say a Ford F-150 was eastbound on 147 when it went through the intersection at PR 362 hitting the side of a Dodge Ram

Firefighters from Dauphin Fire Department extricated two girls, aged 4 and 6, from the Dodge. The pair were transported to hospital in critical condition but died shortly afterwards. Two other adult female in the Dodge Ram were also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Two 24-year-old males in the Ford both sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital by paramedics. One of the men was later transported to a Winnipeg hospital in unstable condition with life-threatening injuries.

It is not known if alcohol played a role in the collision.

Police are continuing to investigate.
