RCMP has charged two 40-year-old men in connection the murder of 33-year-old Colton Patchinose.
Police say that during the investigation they learned that two correction Services officers used their firearms to disrupt the riot involving about 50 inmates. During the incident Patchiness was stabbed to death, one inmate sustained gunshot wounds and remains in hospital and six others were injured, treated in hospital and released back into custody.
RCMP say that officers seized close to 50 prison-made weapons.
Inmates Terrell Smith from Quebec and Christopher Brass from Winnipeg have been charged for their alleged involvement with First Degree Murder.
RCMP continue to investigate.
