Two charged in Main Street robbery

Winnipeg Police have arrested two males in connection to a robbery early Tuesday morning, March 12, 2024.

Police say that around 12:50 A.M. a 25-year-old male was walking in the 200 block of Main Street when he was approached by a group of young men who demanded his property. During the confrontation one of the suspects brandished a machete and threatened the victim.

The victim was no physically injured during the incident and was able to provide police descriptions of the suspects. Four suspects were tracked to the corner of Provencher Boulevard and St. Joseph Street and placed under arrest.

A 20-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Robbery and two counts of Possession of a Weapon. A 17-year-old male, of Winnipeg, has been charged for his alleged involvement with Possession of a Weapon.

The other two 17-year-old males were rleased without charges.
