Two busted in Smith Street drug raid

 

 

Cash, drugs & drug paraphernalia seized

 

 

 

 

 

Two people are facing a number of drug related charges after Winnipeg Police officers from the Organized Crime Unit executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at an apartment in the 100 block of Smith Street.

The raid netted investigators about $150,000 in cash, 97 grams of crack cocaine, 574 grams of a cutting agent, digital scales and other materials used in drug trafficking.

Arrested and charged for their alleged involvement in the case are 29-year-old Willy Solomon Gooding  and31-year-old Sophia Rita Kattenat both from Winnipeg.

They have both been charged with Production of a Scheduled Substance – Cocaine, Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000. Gooding has also been charged with Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x18)
   

Both Gooding and Kattenat were detained in custody
