Brandon Police have arrested and charged two male youths after an incident that happened on October 3, 2017.
The two males, age 15 and 16, had been reported to police after they began chasing wild turkeys on Aberdeen Avenue in the City of Brandon. The pair were swinging golf clubs at the birds attempting to hurt them. One of the turkeys suffered an injury to its leg.
On Wednesday, October 11, 2017, police were able to identify and arrest the two youth. They have both been charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Infliction of Suffering under the Animal Care Act. Both were released to attend Court in November. The injured turkey was captured by animal control officers and released outside of the city limits.
Both youth were released on a promise to appear in Court in November.
