Handgun reported stolen in 1981
Winnipeg Police general patrol officers were on their game Monday evening, July 17, 2017, as they notice something suspicious about a vehicle parked in the 1700 block of Pembina Highway.
As they approached the vehicle they identified the driver as a prohibited driver. they also saw methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
Officers searched the suspect vehicle and found money, drugs and a loaded 9mm Browning handgun that had been reported stolen in 1981.
Derreck Chad Maddock, 36 from Winnipeg has been charged with 23 offences for his alleged involvement, including:
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm and numerous related firearms offences
- Possession of Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possess Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
- Drive Disqualified
- And a number of breaches of court ordered conditions
Victoria Lee Woods, 26 from Winnipeg has been charged with 19 offences for her alleged involvement, including:
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm and numerous related firearms offences
- Possession of Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance – Marijuana
- Possess Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
- And a number of breaches of court ordered conditions
