An 18-year-old male and a 20-year-old female have been arrested in connection to a carjacking that took place Sunday evening, November 22, 2020.
Police say that just after 8:30 pm the suspects were walking on Havelock Avenue when they approached a 24-year-old male and his friend at the rear of a residence. The male was carjacked at knifepoint as he tried to flee he was chased down and tackled. The suspects then took his keys and stole his vehicle.
Police spotted the stolen vehicle near Fermor Avenue and St. Anne’s Road. Officers followed the vehicle to the area of Beaverhill Boulevard and Lakewood Boulevard where they were able to stop the vehicle.
Joshua Eric Richards and an unnamed 20-year-old female have been charged for their alleged involvement with Robbery.
Richards was detained in custody. The female suspect was released on an appearance notice.
