Winnipeg Police have arrested two individuals in an unrelated string of robberies from Liquor Marts in the city.
A 16-year-old female is facing theft and robbery charges for a series of thefts that occurred between July 17 and September 18, 2018. Police say that during that time frame the teen would enter a store select several bottles and leave without paying. In total the youth made off with more than $4,000 worth of booze.
In two of the robberies, on August 28 and again on September 18, 2018, the accused turned violent and threw bottles at a security guard and a customer in one incident and threatened an employee with a bottle in the other.
The teen suspect was arrested after leading police on a short foot chase in the 1100 block of Garfield Street.

In the second string of robberies, police say a 28-year-old female stole more than $5,000 worth of liquor over 18 incidents between April 18, 2018, and July 1, 2018.
As is becoming a common occurrence the suspect walked into the liquor stores, selected several bottles and walked out without paying. During six of the robberies, the accused assaulted employees and/or customers by using bear spray. In two other incidents, she threatened to spray employees.
