A 27-year-old male and a 26-year-old female are facing armed robbery charges after they were allegedly involved in two separate incidents on St. Mary’s Road on September 19, 2022.

Police say that around 11:45 pm they received a report that a man was being chased at gunpoint by the accused. The witness also told police that they heard a gunshot.

As officers arrived in the area they were flagged down by a person who reported seeing a female on the hood of a nearby vehicle. Further investigation revealed that as the female was on the hood of the vehicle the male approached the driver and stole the vehicle at gunpoint.

Police say that as the officers were talking to the victim the stolen vehicle drove by them and crashed into a nearby utility pole. The suspects ran away from the car after the collision but were soon found trying to hide in the neighbourhood. They were both taken into custody. A .22 calibre rifle and a replica airsoft handgun were recovered.

As investigators continued to look into the incidents they learned that the man who had been chased by the accused had been approached by them and they had attempted to rob him. As he ran away from them a shot was fired in his direction. The victim was not injured.

– Discharge a Firearm with Intent
– Possession of a Weapon
– Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
– Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
– Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x2)
– Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment

The female accused was charged for her alleged involvement with:

– Armed Robbery using a Firearm (x2)
– Pointing a Firearm (x2)
– Possession of a Weapon

Roulette was detained in custody. The female was released on an undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code of Canada.
