Dispute turns violent as one man brutally assaulted
On Friday night, July 28, 2017, Winnipeg Police and Paramedics responded to the Austin Street and Lisgar Avenue area after they received a report that a man had been assaulted.
As emergency crews arrived they found a 35-year-old male in critical condition. He was taken to hospital.
Officers from the Major Crimes Unit were called to investigate and they determined that the victim had been at a party when he got into a dispute with two suspects. The suspects knocked the man to the ground and then seriously assaulted him before taking off.
Police were able to identify the suspects and located them in the 300 block of Anderson Avenue and place them in custody.
James Mark Disbrowe, 38 from Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Fail to Comply Probation Order
- Fail to Comply Recognizance
Samantha Tiffany Harper, 23 from Garden Hill, has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
They were both detained in custody.
