Two adults with a child in their care are facing drug and firearm charges after they were found allegedly doing drugs in an Empress Street parking lot.
According to police, firefighters were already on the scene dealing with an unconscious adult female. Officers place the female as well as an adult male under arrest without incident.
Police learned that the adults had gone to the parking lot to consume drugs. The child was seen locked out of the vehicle while the adults were injecting opioids and consuming cannabis
A search of the vehicle uncovered a disassembled handgun with ammunition and about 29 grams of Cocaine.
The child was taken into care and a puppy found in the vehicle was handed over to Animal Services.
Both adults face a number of firearms and drug-related charges. The male was detained in custody. The female was released on an undertaking.
Police have not released the names of the accused in order to protect the identity of the child involved.
