Two adults charged in connection to THC edibles handed out on Halloween to children

Winnipeg police have arrested and charged two adults in connection to children being given THC edibles on Halloween.

Investigators say that the edibles were handed out to kids between the ages of 6 and 16.

A residence suspected of being the source for the cannabis treats was identified in the first 100 block of Coleraine Crescent. Officers executed a search warrant taking two adults into custody.

A 53-year-old female and a 63-year-old male have been charged for their alleged involvement with:

  • Cause Bodily Harm by Criminal Negligence x 13
  • Administer Noxious Thing with Intent to Endanger Life or Cause Bodily Harm x 13
  • Adult Distributribution Cannabis to Young Person x 13
  • Adult Distributribution of Known Illicit Cannabis x 13

Both of the accused were released on a promise to Appear.

Police are asking parents and caregivers to carefully check their children’s candy.
