Two additional cases of COVID-19 identified on Wednesday

2 cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Manitoba on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. The total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases remain at 284.

Five people are currently being treated in hospital for the virus with no patients in intensive care.

The number of deaths related to COVID-19 in Manitoba remains at Seven.

242 people have recovered from the virus with 35 cases still listed as active.

522 tests for COVID-19 were performed on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, bringing the total number of tests performed since early February to 28,294.

The number of cases associated with a cluster of COVID-19 cases at a workplace in the Prairie Mountain Health Region has increased by two. This brings the outbreak total to seven cases.

Officials say that the business in question is not related to health care or the food supply.

Public Health says that these types of clusters are not unexpected as contact tracing expands and additional testing is conducted.

Testing criteria now includes all symptomatic Manitobans. Anyone showing symptoms still needs to be referred for testing by calling Health Links at 204-788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257.
