Two people are in custody for armed robbery after a woman in her 20s was robbed at gun and knifepoint.

Police say the accused approached the victim who was in her yard at a Winnipeg Avenue residence brandishing a sawed-off shotgun and a hunting knife and robber her of her property.

Officers who responded to the incident located the suspects nearby and placed them under arrest. The weapons and property that had been stolen was recovered.

18-year-old Chance Dallas Tweet Meekis was charged for his alleged involvement with Armed Robbery using a Firearm, Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence, Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition, Pointing a Firearm, Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition, Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized and four counts of Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order.

A 17-year-old female has been charged for her alleged involvement with Armed Robbery using a Restricted Firearm or Prohibited Firearm, Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence, Possession of a Weapon, Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition, Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

Both suspects were detained in custody.
