Sunday traffic on Bishop Grandin Boulevard was moving a little slower than normal as a persistent snapping turtle decided to wander on to the roadway.
According to police one of their Traffic Division officers stumbled upon reptile after it kept impeding traffic.
Backup was called in and members of the Winnipeg Humane Society were able to safely wrangle the creature.
