Firefighters were called to the 600 block of Furby Street just before 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, for a fire in a two-and-a-half-storey home.
When crews arrived heavy smoke was coming from the structure. A defensive attack was launched due to conditions inside the building.
Fire officials say that as a result of the fire the instability of the structure requires that it be taken down. Demolition crews will be brought in to pull down the remaining structure in order to make the surrounding area safe. This will also help firefighters access parts of the building that are still on fire and extinguish them.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
