Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire in a three-storey apartment building on Tuesday morning, October 12, 2021 in the 1000 block of Troy Avenue.
Flames were seen coming from the structure as firefighters arrived on the scene. Crews immediately launched an offensive attack bringing the blaze under control within 35 minutes. Fire officials say the fire was contained to the suite it started in.
No injuries were reported. Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services team was called in to help residents who were displaced by the fire find alternate accommodations until their suite is safe to return to.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
