A 66-year-old male has died during a house fire in La Broquerie on Thursday afternoon, February 4, 2021.
RCMP say that when officers arrived on the scene the home was engulfed in flames. A neighbour told officers that the senior homeowner had been seen in an upstairs window but was trapped and could not get out of the house due to the fire.
Once the fire was declared under control firefighters entered the home and pulled the deceased resident out of the structure.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by members of the Office of the Fire Commissioner and the RCMP.
