RCAF say accident happened near Yorkton, Saskatchwan
A Royal Canadian Air Force search and rescue technician based in Winnipeg has died in a training accident near the city of Yorkton, Sask.
Master Cpl. Alfred Barr was based in Winnipeg and a member of 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron says the Department of National Defence.
Lt. Col. Kevin Kozak, Commander of 435 Squadron, said the accident happened during a routine training mission.
“During a parachute drop, unfortunately there was a malfunction of some sort and Master Cpl. Barr did not survive,” Kozak said.

The RCAF’s Directorate of Flight Safety will be investigating the accident and no further information will be released about the incident according to an RCAF media release.
