ATV rolls over on girl and father
RCMP in Steinbach report that just after 3:30 pm on April 5, 2017 tragedy struck as an ATV roll-over sent a 4 year old to hospital clinging to life.
A father from Marchand was was off-roading with his daughter sitting in front of him. As they climbed a hill the ATV flipped backwards onto both riders ad then continued down the hill. According to police the accident occurred near Twin River Road and Provincial Road 210.
The 4 year old was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident but she died as a result of her injuries. The father was not hurt.
Police say that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
RCMP’s Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
