RCMP have charged a 33-year-old RM of Gimli male in connection to a seizure of a large quantity of cannabis.
On Monday officers from the East District Crime Reduction Team (CREST) stopped a vehicle on the Perimeter Highway in the RM of Rosser.
A search of the vehicle led to police uncovering more than 27 kilograms of cannabis. The drugs came from Western Canada and have been linked to organized crime say investigators. It is believed the cannabis was destined for sale in the Interlake region.
The accused was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with Possession of the Purpose of Trafficking. He was later released for court scheduled in Selkirk.
The investigation continues.
