For the third year in a row Manitoba Public Insurance is footing the bill to add more police officers in school zones. During the month of September police will be enforcing speeding as part of the Just Slow Down Campaign.
Ron Schuler, Minister of Crown Services, says his hope is that no-one is caught speeding through a school zone but unfortunately there are some people who are not heeding the warnings.
The influx of cash will go to cover overtime for speed enforcement in various communities across the province including Winnipeg
Over the last few years around 1800 speeders have been tagged for travelling too fast.
