TRAFFIC | 12 BUSTED IN WEEK THREE OF HOLIDAY CHECK STOPS

Week three of the Winnipeg Police Service Holiday Check Stop Program had some disappointing but expected numbers.
Police checked 1509 vehicles across the city and administered 60 roadside breath tests. 12 people were arrested for driving impaired  or refusing to take the test.
Police also issued 53 traffic related Provincial Offence Notices.
The check stop program will be out until the end of the holiday season in Winnipeg and across the province.
Police advise drivers to plan before they go out. Take a cab, a bus (which is free on Dec 31 BTW) or contacting Operation Red nose to get home are better options. If you make the choice to drink or do drugs DON’T DRIVE.
