Residents of a Toronto Street apartment building were woken early Wednesday morning, February 5, 2020, to the sounds of a fire alarm.
Just before 6:00 am firefighters were called to the building.
When they arrived they found heavy smoke coming from one of the suites.
An offensive attacked was launched while other emergency crew member searched the building and help those requiring help out of the structure. Most residents had self-evacuated before firefighters arrived.
It took about 30 minutes for the fire to be brought under control.
Once crews were able to safely vent the building residents were then able to go back inside.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
