1948 –  Mackenzie King, Canada’s 10th Prime Minister sets record as longest serving Prime Minister in the Commonwealth, with 7,825 days in office.

2006 –  National Parole Board pardons junior hockey coach Graham James, convicted in 1997 of two counts of sexually abusing his players, and sentenced to 3.5 years in prison; the pardon will become public knowledge on April 4, 2010, when another victim reports alleged abuse to Winnipeg police.
