Toronto – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two men, one from Manitoba and the other from northwestern Ontario after a bust over a large quantity of illegal tobacco.
The OPP received a request for help by members og the Ontario Ministry of Transportation on Wednesday morning during the inspection of a truck on Highway 400 north of Toronto.
More than 30 boxes containing an estimated 300,000 contraband cigarettes were discovered inside the truck.
Brendan Hall, 36, of Fort Alexander, Man., is charged with trafficking in contraband tobacco and obstructing a peace officer.
Paul Douglas Gallagher, 52, of Thunder Bay, Ont., is charged with trafficking in contraband tobacco.
