Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the City of Winnipeg and area.
When thunderstorm watches are issued it means that conditions are right for the possible development of dangerous thunderstorms that are capable of producing high winds, damaging hail and torrential rain.

The low pressure system over the area will continue to trigger thunderstorms across southeastern Manitoba. Severe thunderstorms are most likely to occur later this afternoon or early this evening. Up to 5 cm of hail is possible in this system.
Environment Canada is also warning of the possibility of an isolated tornado in the area.
The storm system is expected to move out of the province later tonight.
