Three teens charged in shooting at Red River Ex

Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged three teens in connection to the shooting of a 16-year-old male at The Red River Exhibition on Monday night, June 20, 2022.

According to police they located the injured male as he was being tended to by an on-site medical crew. The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition but later upgraded to stable.

Police say that they believe the shooting happened after an altercation. About 20 minutes after the shooting occurred officers stopped a cab near Tyndall Avenue and Burrows Avenue. Officers took the suspects into custody and recovered a loaded handgun.

A 17-year-old male and a 15-year-old female face a number assault, weapon and other charges and were detained in custody.

A second 17-year-old male was charged with Aggravated Assault and released on an undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code of Canada.
