Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to three structure fires Friday night into Saturday morning.

Alexander Avenue

Around 5:16 pm crews responded to a fire in a two-storey duplex in the 400 block of Alexander Avenue. Smoke could be seen coming from one of the suites as firefighters arrived.

An offensive attack was launched and the fire was under control within 15 minutes.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

Manitoba Avenue

A little over an hour later crews responded to a vacant one-and-a-half-storey house in the 400 block of Manitoba Avenue.

Heavy smoke was coming from the house and as crews attempted to enter the structure but high heat and dense smoke forced them out. Once conditions improved an offensive attack continued. The fire was declared under control at 6:49 pm.

Firefighters searched the building and no one was found inside.

Westgrove Way

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called once again to a structure fire around 2:20 am, this time on Westgrove Way in Charleswood.
