Winnipeg Police are investigating three stabbings that happened between late Monday afternoon and early this morning.
Around 4:15 pm on May 3, 2021, officers responded to a report of a stabbing on Portage Avenue at Balmoral Street. A 22-year-old female was located and officers provided first-aid until paramedics arrived on the scene. The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition but has since been upgraded to stable.
Just over six hours later, around 10:35 pm firefighters were flagged down in the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue by a 30-year-old male who was in need of medical help after being stabbed. The male was taken to hospital in unstable condition but later upgraded to stable.
Police met with the victim and and learned he had been likely stabbed near a convenience store at Salter Street and Flora Avenue.
On May 4, around 12:25 am police received a 911 call to report a stabbing near Mountain Avenue and Aikins Street. When officers arrived they found a 35-year-old male lying in the roadway. Police believe the man had been stabbed and assaulted with bear spray but the male is being uncooperative and will not provide any details of the incident to investigators. The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.
No arrests have been made in any of the cases and member of the Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate.
