On August 9, 2021, RCMP from Ste. Rose du Lac responded to an armed robbery at a business on Highway 50 in the RM of Alonsa.
Police say that three men wearing masks entered the business carrying guns and aimed them at employees. The trio the stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing in a waiting vehicle.
Officers notified the Manitoba First Nations Police Service as well as RCMP in Amaranth and Neepawa about the suspect vehicle. The vehicle was found on Sandy Bay First Nation and MFNPS were able to conduct a traffic stop.
Three men and a female were taken into custody and a firearm was seized by police.
Francis Beaulieu, 31; Anton Levasseur, 26; and Victor Lavasseur, 29, all from Sandy Bay First Nation have been charged for their alleged involvement Robbery with a Firearm and various firearms offences.
All three were detained in custody.
The female, who was driving the vehicle at the time it was stopped by police has been released by police without any charges.
