Three men charged in robbery after K-9 unit tracks them from scene

Just after 8:30 pm last night, Tuesday, December 5, 2017, Winnipeg Police received a call from a woman telling them that her husband had just been assaulted at a convenience store in the 500 block of Ellice Avenue.

When police arrived they were told the suspects took off on foot. A K-9 unit on scene was able to get a track and follow it to the 500 block of Sargent Avenue where the suspects were found.

Charles Kaniki, 18 from Winnipeg has been arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with Robbery and Fail to Comply with Recognizance (x5). He was detained in custody.

The two other male suspects were released on a Promise to Appear in Court. They are facing a number of charges related to the robbery as well. One of the men is also facing a weapons charge.
