When firefighters arrived at the single-storey home in the first 100 block of Quincy Bay they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure and launched an exterior attack due to the intensity of the blaze. Once crews were able to knock down the flames and it was safe to enter the house they transitioned to an interior attack. The fire was declared under control at 10:12 p.m.

No one was in the home at the time of the fire. One person was assessed at the scene by paramedics but they did not require transport to hospital. Firefighters located three dogs and a cat that had died in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
