Three officers injured while arresting knife wielding suspect

Three Winnipeg Police officers sustained knife wound injuries while trying to arrest a woman under the influence of methamphetamine on Saturday afternoon, November 17, 2018.

Police say that they received a call about a female vandalizing several vehicles with a knife on Stella Avenue.

Just after 3:00 pm the suspect was located in a home in the area and as police attempted to place her under arrest she assaulted three officers and cut them with a knife.

The officer’s injuries were not life-threatening and all three were treated in hospital. The suspect was also taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

27-year-old Charmine Cheyanne Grenier is facing a number of charges for her alleged involvement including Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon, Resist Peace Officer, Possess Weapon And Mischief under $5,000.

She was detained in custody.
