Winnipeg Police have arrested three suspects in connection to the murder of 19-year-old John Lloyd Barrion on February 15, 2022.
William Arthur Sampson, 51 was arrested on February 25 from a Grant Park area home for his alleged involvement. He has been charged with Second Degree Murder, Armed Robbery Using a Firearm, Carry Concealed Weapon/Prohibited Device and eight counts of Possess Firearm, Restricted Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order.
Ryan Jeron Smith, 40, was arrested in the Willian Whyte neighbourhood on February 25 for his alleged involvement. He is facing charges of Second Degree Murder, Armed Robbery Using a Firearm, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance, Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer, Operation of a Conveyance While Prohibited, Possess Prohibited/Restricted Weapon, Possess Firearm, Restricted Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order and two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
Robert Gordon Francis, 37 was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement on February 16, with Manslaughter, Armed Robbery Using a Firearm, Accessory After the Fact to Murder, Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
The three accused were detained in custody.
