RCMP have arrested two men in connection to an assault at a residence in the RM of Ste Anne on Sunday, January 15, 2023.
According to police the two men aged 28 and 27 went to the property to talk to one of the residents when the 69-year-old male property owner approached them.
A fight broke out and the 69-year-old was seriously injured. The senior male was taken to hospital then transferred to Winnipeg in critical condition. His condition has been upgraded to stable.
As the investigation unfolded officers identified a home in the RM of Ste. Anne where police arrested the 28-year-old man without incident. The 27-year-old man resisted arrest but was eventually restrained and placed in a police vehicle.
While police were arresting the two suspects the 50-year-old male property owner attempted to intervene in the arrest and became belligerent to officers. RCMP say the man threatened to harm the officers and became combative. He was also taken into custody.
- Darcy Funk, 28, has been charged for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault and Mischief.
- Dallas Funk, 27, has been charged for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault, Mischief and Uttering Threats.
- Gerald Funk, 50, has been charged for his alleged involvement with Uttering Threats and Resisting Arrest.
All three men were detained in custody.
