Three dead after train collides with a van near Strathclair

RCMP and CP Police are investigating a fatal collision between a van and a CP train just east of Strathclair, Manitoba.

Investigators say that a 27-year-old Dauphin male was driving a van northbound on Road 126 West when it was hit by a westbound train.

The driver was seriously injured and transported to hospital in critical condition. His injuries are considered life-threatening. The three passengers in the van, a 45-year-old male from Sandy Bay First Nation, a25-year-old male from Waywayseecappo First Nation and a 19-year-old male from Dauphin were pronounced dead at the scene.

CP Police are continuing to investigate the collision with help from the RCMP.
