Three dead after boat capsized on Reindeer Lake

Three people are dead after a boat capsized on Reindeer Lake near Porcupine Island on Wednesday afternoon, October 14, 2021.

Police say that a 28-year-old female was pulled from the water but three others in the boat were missing.

The boat had lest Kinoosao, Saskatchewan on its way to Brochet, Manitoba on October 11 but never arrived. The conditions at the time the boat capsized were windy and the water was reported rough.

Searchers from Brochet eventually located the three passengers, a 50-year-old male, a 49-year-old female and a 42-year-old male but they were all deceased. Police say all three were from the Brochet community.

Investigators said that none of the deceased were wearing life jackets.

The investigation continues.
