Three men are facing murder charges in connection to the killing of James Vernon Giesbrecht.
Human remains were found in a burned-out 2007 Honda Accord on October 13, 2022, on the outskirts of Brandon. It would take investigators until January 2023 to identify the body as Giegbrecht through the use of the National Forensics Lab. It was also at that point investigators were able to confirm the death as a homicide.
Investigators were able to find links to the suspects through the information they had along with information from the public after several pleas for assiatance were made.
On September 11, 2023, the three suspects were arrested.
Redstone Wombdiska, 28, was arrested at Headingley Correctional Centre and charged for his alleged involvement with First Degree Murder.
Joseph Lindsay, 36, was arrested at Stony Mountain Institution and charged for his alleged involvement with First Degree Murder.
Christopher Cutlip, 40, was arrested at the Brandon Correctional Centre and charged for his alleged involvement with Second Degree Murder.
Police say that there are no other people being sought in connecton to the murder.
All three suspects remain in custody.
