Winnipeg Police have arrested three men in connection with a shooting on Chalmers Avenue on February 17, 2018.
Police had responded to the report of a shooting just after 6:15 pm. When they arrived on scene they found a 33-year-old male suffering from a number of gunshot wounds.
The victim was taken to hospital in unstable condition
During the course of their investigation police learned that three men went to the victim’s house and an argument erupted at the front door. The victim noticed one of the suspects had a gun and he tried to retreat inside but the suspects forced their way inside. The victim was then shot several times. Police say the suspects then ransacked the home and stole a number of items before taking off.
Investigators were able to identify three suspects and have arrested them.
Brian Wayne Chief, 36 from Winnipeg, has been charged for his alleged involvement with Attempt to Commit Murder, Armed Robbery using a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon, Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence, Transport Firearm Contrary to Regulations, Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
Daniel Kevin Johnston, 33 from Winnipeg, has been charged for his involvement with Attempt to Commit Murder, Armed Robbery using a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon, Pointing a Firearm, Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Discharge a Prohibited Firearm with Intent, Transport Firearm Contrary to Regulations, Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order (x3), Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Jesse Bailley Lee Gladue, a 27-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged for his involvement with Assault with a Weapon, Attempt to Commit Murder, Armed Robbery using a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon, Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence, Transport Firearm Contrary to Regulations, Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x3)
All three were detained in custody.
