Winnipeg Police have three suspects in custody after they spotted a stolen SUV driving in what they describe as a “high rate of speed” around 11:45 pm on Polson Avenue April 21, 2108.
As police tried to catch up to the vehicle it sped north up McPhillips Street. Officers on the ground lost sight of the SUV and called in AIR-1 for support. The vehicle was soon spotted by the police’s eye in the sky circling a condominium complex near Murray Avenue. The vehicle then took off southbound on McPhillips turning east on Jarvis Avenue. At this point, the SUV stopped and everyone inside jumped out and fled on foot.
Police gave chase on foot and capture the three suspects with the help of a K-9 Unit and the helicopter above.
The stolen SUV, taken from a Portage Avenue dealership, also had stolen licence plates from another vehicle on it.
Traedon Troy Cook, a 19 from Winnipeg, has been charged for his alleged involvement with

- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Travis Freddie Ducharme, 20 from Winnipeg, has been charged for his alleged involvement with
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Theft under $5,000 (x3)
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Driving suspended while disqualified (Highway Traffic Act)
A 19-year-old female from Winnipeg has been charged for her alleged involvement with
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
Cook and Ducharme were detained in custody the 19-year-old female was released on a promise to appear.
