Three men threatened and assaulted at a downtown bus stop

Winnipeg police arrested a 43-year-old male after he allegedly brandished a weapon, threatened and assaulted people waiting for a bus near Fort Street and Graham Avenue.

The incident happened around 3:30 pm on Thursday, November 4, 2021, when the suspect approached the victims and began making racial slurs towards an adult male. The male tried to walk away but was assaulted and verbally threatened.

A Winnipeg Transit driver who was in uniform was also at the bus stop and tried to defuse the situation. The driver was threatened and punched in the face according to police.

A third male at the stop tried to also intervene and was also threatened by the accused at knifepoint.

Police say that none of the victims needed medical attention.

The accused has been charged for his alleged involvement with assault, weapon and threats-related charges. He was released on an Undertaking.
