RCMP Cst Allan Poapst remembered during funeral as thousands pay their respect.

The funeral of Manitoba RCMP Cst. Allan Poapst brought together thousands of police officers, first responders, family, friends and members of the public to pay their last respects.

Poapst was killed in a traffic collision on Friday, December 13, 2019, when a pickup truck crossed the median of the Perimeter Highway and crashed into the RCMP vehicle he was driving.

The 49-year-old father of three was remembered as a kind man who spent his life helping others. He was also an avid sports fan and volunteered within the amateur hockey community.

Poapst had served his entire policing career within Manitoba. He had been an RCMP officer for just a few days shy of 13 years.
