Just after 1:00 pm on Monday, March 4, 2019, Thompson RCMP responded to a home invasion in the northern city.
Police say three men knocked on the door and asked to be let in. When the homeowner refused the males forced their way inside.
The people inside the home were able to escape out the back door and call police.
The suspects stayed inside the home for a short time then fled before police arrived.
Officers say that the occupants of the home, two adults and a child, were unhurt but a dog in the backyard sustained injuries and died. Police say they believe the dog was injured by the suspects.
RCMP are looking for three suspects.
Suspect one is described as a young male standing about 6’0″ tall, weighing 200 lbs and wearing a grey touque with a red stripe, a grey jacket and winter boots.
The other two male suspects were wearing dark clothing.
Police were told one of the suspects also had a tattoo of a tear drop on his face.
Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP at 204-677-6909 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
