RCMP in Thompson have arrested a 29-year-old male after he forced his way into a residence and held a victim at knifepoint.
On Sunday, February 10, 2019, the accused allegedly kicked in the door of a residence, threatened a female who lived there then fled before police arrived.
Although officers attempted to located the suspect they were unable to.
Early in the morning on February 11, 2019, police responded to the same residence. According to officers the suspect had returned and once again kicked in the door to the residence. Police
This time as officers arrived they could hear shouting. As police entered they saw the male with a knife holding the adult female.
The man then released hold of the victim and approached officers who ordered him to drop the weapon. The suspect ignored the
Police used their taser on the suspect several times. The suspect dropped the knife and was arrested.
The accused is facing multiple charges including Break and Enter x 2, Assault with a Weapon x 2, Assault on Police Officer with a Weapon x 2, Uttering threats, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Resisting Arrest, Mischief and Theft.
Police continue to investigate the incident
