Man steals key fob from car dealership, goes back after hours looking for vehicle

37-year-old Evan Lawrence Paleshnuik was arrested and charged on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, after he allegedly stole a key fob from a Pembina Highway car dealership.

Police say that Paleshnuik went into the dealership just after 2:30 pm and stole a key fob that belonged to a newer vehicle. He then left the dealership.

Later that night he went back to the dealership and was seen walking around the lot looking for the vehicle that belonged to the key fob he had stolen earlier.

The lot was under video surveillance and the security company called the police and reported the suspect’s activity.

Police found the suspect still in the parking lot and placed him under arrest. They recovered the key fob that was in his possession.

Paleshnuik is facing a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,00.

He was detained in custody.
